The Female Impact featured in NRC

We are grateful for the continued attention to The Female Impact and to how research on women is changing the interpretation and presentation of seventeenth-century art. A recent article in NRC highlights two examples from our project: changes to museum labels prompted by insights from Judith Noorman’s course De vrouw van, and research by Noorman and Piet Bakker on Maria de Knuijt, who emerged as Johannes Vermeer’s most important patron.
